CONSIDER:
IMPORTANT TIPS

#1  Navigate with Adult Supervision

Think of an adult (parent, guardian, or even a school counselor) as your "Chief Security Officer."

* The "Gut Check": Before you hit "Apply" on a website you’ve never heard of, show it to an adult. They can help you spot "red flags" that might look like a great deal but are actually suspicious.

The Second Pair of Eyes: They can help you verify if a company is legitimate by looking up reviews or checking their official website.
#2    The “City, State” Rule of Thumb

Never put your home address, limit it to City, State
#3    Professionalize Your Email

soccerstar03@gmail.com
to janae_troyo@gmail.com [first_last@gmail.com]

The Tip:
Create a separate email account just for job applications so your "real" inbox doesn't get buried in alerts.
#4    Use the “Action + Result” Formula

Instead of just listing what you did, explain why it mattered
. Avoid boring phrases like "Responsible for..."
#5    Focus on Educational Wins

Since you're a student, your school info goes at the top. It’s your current "full-time job."

  • Include your GPA: Only if it’s a 3.0 or higher.
  • Relevant Coursework: If you’re applying for a tech job, mention your Coding or Robotics class. If it’s a retail job, mention Business or Math.
  • Awards: Honor roll, "Student of the Month," or perfect attendance (which proves you actually show up).
